Call for participation:

Recruiting event for PhD and Post-doc positions within the Marie-Curie
Network SAGA: Shapes, Algebra, Geometry and Algorithms
(http://www,sintef,no/saga)

and SAGA Workshop & Autumn School
(http://www.sintef.no/Projectweb/SAGA/Summer-school-2008)

November 17-21, 2008, at CIEM, Castro-Urdiales, Spain.

SAGA aims at advancing the scientific and technological state-of-the-art
in the fields of Algebraic Geometry, Geometric Modeling, and Scientific
Computing, through the financing of PhD theses and Post-doc positions.

In particular, there is a full-time PhD position and a 9-month Post-doc
position at the University of Athens, Greece on Algebraic and Geometric
algorithms and software tools for Computer-Aided Geometric Design. The
proposed PhD topics are:
- Sparse approximate implicitization of parametric surfaces.
- Algebraic tools, such as resultant algorithms and real solving, for
geometric constructions.

Start date within the calendar year 2009, net salary of about 1770 Euro
